Where's heaven? | ||
This a true story from last week. Our eldest (6) was using his leap pad and was proudly naming different states before he pressed the pen to the page and the voice from the pad told him the state name, state capital and population. He's really learned quite a few states and can tell you that Menaw lives in Florida, I had a business trip to Texas recently and Maricia's family lives in Michigan. So...his leap pad is out and he says "Mama Liz, where's heaven?" I just thought it was a great question and one of those moments you imagine when you decide to bring a child into your life. I had a wistful pause in which I was grateful for the opportunity to impart such an important answer... I said something like "well, people believe different things, but I can tell you that I believe heaven is everywhere because I believe God is everywhere". He thought for a moment and said "oh", looking at me as if he were having deep thoughts. I'll have to admit I was proud. Then he said "well, where's Oklahoma?" |
